School-based services

Meeting students where they are

Why it matters

  • Many youth receive behavioral health support more consistently when services are available in the school setting.
  • Early identification and intervention can reduce crises, improve attendance, strengthen academic performance, and improve family engagement.
  • School-based services help reduce transportation and access barriers for rural and underserved communities.

Current school-based supports

  • Individual behavioral health counseling
  • Family engagement and consultation
  • School staff collaboration
  • Crisis response and resource coordination
  • Prevention and resilience-focused programming
  • Linkage to outpatient, crisis, psychiatric, and specialty services when needed

Community impact

  • Services delivered in partnership with area school districts
  • Strengthens connections between schools, families, and community behavioral health resources
  • Supports earlier intervention before concerns become emergency situations
  • Creates a coordinated system of care for children and adolescents

What to expect

Getting ready for your first appointment

We’re excited to meet you and your child! To make sure everything goes smoothly, there are a few important documents we need you to bring. These help us confirm who can make decisions for your child and, if needed, determine eligibility for financial assistance.

What you’ll need to bring

1. Proof of custody (required for all clients)

We must have documentation showing who has legal custody of your child:

  • Birth Certificate – If both parents are listed and there’s no custody agreement, this will work.
  • Custody Order – If parents are divorced or there’s a legal custody agreement, please bring the official court order.

2. Proof of Missouri residency (strongly encouraged)

Providing proof of residency helps us confirm eligibility for financial assistance programs. You can bring any one of these:

  • A recent utility bill (electric, water, gas)
  • Lease agreement or mortgage statement
  • Official mail from a government agency (tax documents, Social Security, Medicaid)

3. Government issued photo ID. (parent or guardian)

Why is this important?

Proof of custody is required for every client to ensure we follow legal guidelines. Proof of Missouri residency isn’t required for services, but it can help us connect you with financial assistance if needed.
